Press Release
Revenue Office Confirms Levy Rates and Bands for 2026–27
Office of the Spokesperson

The Revenue Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network today confirmed the rates, bands and thresholds of the four levies for the levy year 2026–27, which runs from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027. The Member Contribution Levy is charged on member organisations at banded rates of nil, 1, 2 and 3 per cent of chargeable operating receipts, with a nil band of the first 250,000 credits. The Citizen Contribution is charged at banded rates of 4, 7 and 10 per cent of assessable earnings above a nil band of 20,000 credits.
The Interconnection Levy is charged at 40 credits per 1,000 recorded interconnection events above a quarterly allowance of 100,000 events. Transaction Duty is charged at 2 per cent of the charge for most goods and services supplied within the Network, and at a reduced rate of 0.5 per cent for listed essential supplies. All bands and rates are unchanged from the interim arrangements that applied from 10 August 2026, so that returns and payments made under those arrangements carry over without adjustment.
The full tables of bands and thresholds, together with worked examples for each levy, are set out on the Rates and Bands page of this site. Registration with the Office opens today; member organisations must register by 30 September 2026 so that the first levy year can be administered from the outset.
